Sapphire Sports Fiesta

I wanted to organise Table Tennis, it being my favourite sport. So I volunteered.

As I step in to the meeting, see new faces and loud voices.

It started with a dislike of frequent meetings as I work asynchronously using collaboration tools and avoid meetings.

Having said that, I found that meetings give that personal touch we long lost in our lives. I still dislike the frequency of it.

My mind was wondering — Why was I doing it? There was no answer at first. Was it a selfless act or selfish act? Just then I realised that I was the one naming it, it was in fact just an act. You can call it a social act.

This is where our judgement of an act brings in ego. Its a lesson: You just did it, don’t name it, don’t claim it.

The cast of characters was set. Everyone was taking on thier own responsibilities, some more, some less but everyone to thier own liking.

Was it the best team? Probably not but it was “A TEAM”. Thats all that mattered.

Where their complains? Always but it were our own complains.

Did we resolve it? Hell, Yeah we did.

Was it fun, hmm. BIG YES!

Everyone’s instinct was showing up. While one wanted to burst crackers, Others wanted to keep it simple.

All in all — great team work and nice individuals.

My single biggest learning of being part of organising the sports fiesta — Life is a single player game, played in a team.
